You know your child isn't "just being difficult."

The way their body goes from calm to overwhelmed in seconds. The way bedtime turns into a battle. The way home tells a very different story to school.

You're tired of surface-level advice. You want someone who looks deeper.

I'm Jessinta Benton — paediatric occupational therapist, Maylands Perth — supporting families across Australia via telehealth.

My work centres on one thing: understanding your child's nervous system so daily life can feel more manageable.

WHY I DO THIS

Early in my career, I kept seeing the same thing — children labelled as difficult, anxious, or inattentive, while nobody looked at what their nervous system was doing underneath.

When I began working in sleep and regulation, something shifted. Families made meaningful progress when we moved away from compliance-focused strategies and toward safety and regulation instead.

That became my clinical anchor — and the foundation of everything I do now.

HOW I WORK

Structured, calm and practical — not clinical or overwhelming.

I look at your child's whole daily life: sleep patterns, sensory triggers, transitions, bedtime anxiety, after-school crashes. Sessions are collaborative, your child is respected, and you'll always feel supported rather than judged.

I don't hand you generic strategies. I explain what's happening in your child's body and give you tools matched to how they're actually wired.

Regulation-first. Family-centred. Strength-based. We aim for Tuesday morning changes — not theoretical progress.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work with babies through to teens experiencing challenges with sleep, sensory processing, emotional regulation and neurodivergence — with or without a formal diagnosis.

You might be in the right place if your family is navigating bedtime battles, night waking, sensory sensitivities, big emotions, or daily overwhelm — and generic advice hasn't helped.

If you're looking for rigid sleep training or quick-fix behaviour management, I'm probably not the right fit. But if you want thoughtful, nervous-system-informed support — welcome.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

Outside of work you'll find me near the ocean, walking to clear my head, or with family and friends over good food. I value calm spaces, gentle routines, and sleep — very much sleep.

When families work with me, they're not just getting a therapist. They're getting someone who genuinely understands how heavy this can feel.

Not sure if we're the right fit? Let's find out.

I offer a no-pressure discovery call — a conversation about what's going on for your child and whether working together makes sense.
